Match Recap
Kano Pillars and Sporting Lagos shared the points in an NPFL draw that Sporting Lagos nearly stole outright, V. Ugwu snatching a 1-1 equalizer in the first-minute stoppage of the half to deny Kano Pillars what would have been a routine home win. Both sides arrive at this result mid-table and closely matched: Kano Pillars sit sixth on 9 points with a DDWWD run, Sporting Lagos just three spots and a point behind at 8, their own form card reading DDWLW. Neither side's finishing told the full story here, with league top scorer V. Mbaoma, who leads the NPFL chart on 13 goals, nowhere among the scorers on this occasion. A point apiece keeps both camps ticking over rather than surging, and with the gap between them so thin, results like this one will decide who climbs and who stalls. Ugwu's leveler, arriving with the half-time whistle practically in sight, is the moment worth rewinding, so catch the goal that snatched a share of the spoils in the highlights below.
