Match Recap
Y. Quinonez ended any hope of a home victory before the half-hour mark had even passed, striking for LDU de Quito in the 35th minute to silence Aucas and secure a hard-fought Liga Pro away win. It was the only goal the visitors needed. The result is a notable one on the table: Aucas came in third with 41 points and had won three of their last five matches, while LDU de Quito sat sixth on 35 points and brought a mixed run of form into the capital. Yet six points and a league position meant nothing once Quinonez found the net. The last time these clubs met, Aucas avoided defeat with a draw. Not this time. Quinonez's 35th-minute finish held up for the full 90, and watching exactly how he beat the Aucas keeper is reason enough to hit play.
