Albacete had lost four of their first five and sat second from bottom in Segunda División, but Víctor San Bartolomé broke the deadlock in the 20th minute and Higinio Marín doubled it right on the stroke of half-time to put Eldense away for good. It was only Albacete's second win of the season, and it came against an Eldense side that arrived in better form, 14 points and 13th in the table against Albacete's four. Neither team's scorers crack the league's top ten, where Miguel de la Fuente still leads the race with seven goals, but on this afternoon it was Albacete's unheralded pair who did the damage. Two goals inside the first 45 minutes left Eldense chasing shadows for the entire second half, unable to find a way back despite their recent run of results. For a side with one win in five, this was about as complete a performance as it gets.
