Match Recap
Jack Cooper Love did it twice inside the first 25 minutes, and that was enough to decide this one. His opener in the 7th minute and a follow-up in the 25th gave Emmen a cushion that Almere City FC never fully closed, even after Ferdy Druijf pulled one back in the 77th. The final score read 2-1, but the table tells the more interesting story: Almere sit second in the Eerste Divisie on 22 points with four wins from five and form reading WWLWW, a run this result snaps, while Emmen, fifth on 19 points, needed exactly this kind of statement to keep pace. N. Bannis still leads the league's scoring charts with 15 goals, but on this night the headlines belonged to Love instead. For Almere, the damage was done early and Druijf's strike came too late to matter. Watch how Love turns a tight midfield battle into a two-goal lead in barely eighteen minutes, then see whether Emmen's defense can hold on once Almere finally find their rhythm in the second half.
