Match Recap
M. Araujo needed just two minutes to set the tone, and Sporting CP never relinquished control, running out 3-1 winners against Alverca in the Primeira Liga to stay top of the table on seven points from three games. The early opener kept Alverca chasing the game all afternoon, and Matheus Mendes made it two in the 55th minute before L. Suarez added a third five minutes later to put the match firmly to bed. Figueiredo did pull one back for the visitors in the 88th minute, though Alverca, sitting 17th with just one point from three games, were never genuinely threatening. It is now three wins from three for Sporting in their recent meetings with Alverca, a run of dominance this result extends without drama. Suarez's composed finish in the 60th minute, the goal that sealed it, is worth watching.
