Match Recap
Tenerife made their Segunda División intentions clear from the opening minutes, taking control of Ipurua before Eibar had time to settle. Enric put the visitors ahead after just seven minutes, and although J. Bautista pulled one back for the hosts on the stroke of 35, J. Alvarez restored the two-goal cushion right on the brink of half-time to leave Eibar with a mountain to climb. Any hope of a second-half recovery was snuffed out when I. Chapela added a fourth for Tenerife on 74 minutes, sealing a dominant 3-1 road win. The result sends Tenerife second in the early Segunda División table with a perfect three points, while Eibar open their campaign rooted to the foot of the standings. It is the sharpness of that Alvarez finish on the cusp of the interval, turning a nervous 1-1 into a 2-1 lead heading into the dressing room, that swings the whole story of this match — see it for yourself in the highlights.
