Match Recap
Sporting CP made it four wins from five Primeira Liga outings with a controlled 2-0 home victory over Nacional, moving to 13 points and second in the table. Luis Suárez opened the scoring on 32 minutes, giving the hosts a foothold they never looked like relinquishing against a Nacional side that had taken only four points from their opening five games. Flávio Gonçalves doubled the lead four minutes into the second half, and the contest was effectively over from there. Nacional, who arrived carrying a run of three defeats in their last five fixtures, left without troubling the scoresheet, extending an already difficult start to the season. Sporting have now won both their recorded head-to-head meetings with this opponent, and this one felt more comfortable than the last. Watch Gonçalves arrive at the edge of the area on 49 minutes and do exactly what the moment demanded.
