Match Recap
Yoann Cathline turned this one into his personal show, scoring twice to send Utrecht past Willem II 3-1 in Eredivisie action. He broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, and when Jaden Slory pulled one back for Willem II seven minutes later, Cathline answered almost immediately with his second to restore the cushion in the 75th. Ángel Alarcón added a stoppage-time third to seal it. The win is Utrecht's first in five league games this season, a welcome lift after sitting on just five points through that stretch. Willem II, still searching for their first win and carrying only two points from five matches, have little to show for their own run. Neither side has a scorer among the league's top ten this season, with R. Pepi still topping that chart on 16 goals, but Cathline's double was more than enough on its own. Watch both of his strikes, plus Alarcón's late dagger, in the highlights below.
