Match Recap
Willem II and PEC Zwolle traded blows inside the opening three minutes and never found another one between them. Sydney van Hooijdonk needed just two minutes to put the visitors ahead, but Hidde ter Avest answered almost immediately, leveling it for Willem II in the third. From there the game settled into a stalemate that, on balance, suits Zwolle more than their hosts: Willem II sit bottom of the Eredivisie table on two points with five straight losses before this draw, while Zwolle, 14th with two wins from five, at least stretch their unbeaten run to two matches despite the mixed form behind it. Pepi still leads the league's scoring charts with 17 goals, and neither van Hooijdonk nor ter Avest is anywhere near that company yet, but both delivered the kind of rapid-fire, end-to-end start that made the rest of the afternoon feel almost unnecessary. Watch how ter Avest wipes out Zwolle's lead in under 60 seconds of game time, before either side settles.
