Match Recap
Nine goals, one name on most of them: Wout Weghorst's hat-trick set the tone as Twente simply ran away from Excelsior in Eredivisie, winning 9-0. Thomas Van den Belt and Daan Rots each struck twice either side of the break, and by the time Ramiz Zerrouki added a ninth in the 71st minute, this had turned from a result into a demolition. Twente came in flying high in fourth on 20 points with three wins from five, while Excelsior sit second from bottom with just 11 and a run of four losses in five, and the gap showed from the first whistle. Fittingly, the only previous meeting between these sides ended in a draw, making this lopsided reversal all the more striking. With Weghorst's third goal arriving in the 62nd minute to complete the treble, there's no shortage of moments worth replaying, watch how Twente's rout unfolded goal by goal in the highlights.
