Match Recap
Jacob Trenskow and Nigel Thomas traded braces in a five-goal shootout as Heerenveen edged ADO Den Haag 3-2 in Eredivisie. Trenskow struck first in the 24th minute, but the game only caught fire after the break: Meerveld made it 2-0 before Thomas dragged Den Haag level with two quick strikes either side of the hour, only for Trenskow to restore Heerenveen's lead for good in the 66th. It's the kind of result the table suggested was coming for Heerenveen, who moved to 12 points and ninth with their form reading WLWDL, while Den Haag's defeat leaves them 16th on just six points and one win from five games, their WDDLL run now looking shakier than ever. League top scorer R. Pepi watched from elsewhere on 16 goals, but Trenskow's night will do plenty for his own case. Five goals, two braces, and a late twist, Thomas's 72nd-minute leveler before Trenskow snatched it back deserves the full replay.
