Match Recap
Cruz Azul led twice and still couldn't hold on, as Gabriel Fernández's stoppage-time strike in the 90+5th minute rescued a wild 3-3 draw against Liga MX leaders Toluca. Nicolás Ibañez opened the scoring in the 7th minute, and Fernández doubled the home side's lead before halftime, but Toluca stormed back with three goals in 23 second-half minutes: Hélio Júnio Nunes de Castro pulled one back, then Alexis Vega struck twice, in the 56th and 78th minutes, to put the league leaders in front. Cruz Azul, sitting fifth after a shaky LWWWL run, looked set to drop points at home against a Toluca side unbeaten in four straight, until Fernández popped up again to complete his brace and salvage a share of the spoils. Two draws and a win in their last two meetings hinted this fixture wouldn't be straightforward, and six goals later, it wasn't. Watch every twist, from Ibañez's early opener to Fernández's dramatic 90+5 leveler, in the highlights below.
