Alianza Lima 1–0 UTC

F. Gaibor found the net in the second minute of first-half added time to give Alianza Lima a 1-0 win over UTC in the Primera División. Three more points take the league leaders to 51, maintaining a stranglehold on top spot that a run of three wins from their last five games has built. UTC, sitting last with 15 points and without a single win in their most recent five outings, could not find a response. The result also extends Alianza Lima's perfect head-to-head record against this opponent, two wins from two in recent meetings. None of that context fully captures what makes the goal itself worth watching: Gaibor's composed finish just before half-time, at the exact moment the first half felt like it was drifting to zero-zero.
