Match Recap
Franco Posse struck in the 34th minute and it was enough to hand Macara a 1-0 win away at Universidad Catolica in Liga Pro. On paper this was a clash between two sides level on 51 points, with Catolica sitting second on form and Macara just behind in third, but Posse's strike was the difference on the day. It continues a tidy habit for Macara against this opponent: across their last two meetings Catolica has never beaten them, with one win for the home side and one draw to show from those encounters, and now a loss added to that record. Catolica came in on the better recent run, having won three of their last five, but couldn't find a way past Macara's defense once Posse put his side ahead. Neither side's goal threat matches league top scorer E. Mero's 13-goal haul this season, but Posse's finish was plenty to settle this one. Catch the exact moment Posse beat the Catolica keeper in the 34th minute, replayed in full in the highlights below.
