Match Recap
Augustin Campana gave Macara exactly what they needed at the hour mark, slotting home the only goal of the game to hand Ecuador's Liga Pro side a 1-0 victory over Emelec on home soil. It was a controlled, grinding win rather than a spectacular one, but the points were all that mattered for a Macara side sitting second in the Liga Pro table with 51 points and three wins from their last five outings. Emelec, 15 points adrift in eleventh, could not find a way back into it after Campana's 60th-minute strike, and their recent form of just two wins in five tells the story of a difficult stretch. The head-to-head between these two clubs is now level at one win apiece across their last two meetings, which only sharpens the sense that this was a pressure match Macara had to take. Pull up the full replay and watch the moment Campana ended the deadlock.
