Match Recap
Emelec trailed at Leones del Norte before flipping the script in a three-goal burst that settled it inside seven minutes. Martín Caramuto put the hosts ahead on 57 minutes, but Ronie Carrillo leveled things just five minutes later, and Juan Pablo Ruiz Gomez had Emelec in front two minutes after that. Reixon David Saya Paredes added a stoppage-time fourth goal in the 90+1st minute to turn a tight contest into a 3-1 road win. Both sides came in level on 39 points in the Liga Pro table, with Emelec's recent form edging Leones del Norte's, and the head-to-head was split at one win apiece in their last two meetings, so nothing separated these two on paper before kickoff. Leones del Norte led the league leader E. Mero sits on 13 goals this season, though none of Saturday's scorers crack that top-ten list. What this match had instead was chaos: a lead erased and a game won in a seven-minute window, capped by a stoppage-time strike from Saya Paredes that you'll want to see land.
