Match Recap
Giovanni Simeone dragged Atletico Madrid level with five minutes to spare, turning what looked like a Villarreal victory into a 2-2 draw in La Liga. Atletico had gone ahead through Marc Pubill on 59 minutes, but Gerard Moreno equalized for Villarreal on 66 and Giorgi Mikautadze put the visitors in front on 78. With the Yellow Submarine on course for their first win of the season, Simeone struck on 85 to deny them. The result leaves Atletico on four points from two games, while Villarreal remain winless through back-to-back draws. Their two most recent meetings have been split exactly, one win apiece, no draws, and this late leveler keeps that ruthlessly even rivalry going. Watch Simeone's 85th-minute finish and see the precise moment a Villarreal win was taken away.
