Match Recap
Five goals, a two-goal deficit overturned, and then snatched back — Independiente del Valle needed every minute of it to leave Asunción with a 3-2 win over Libertad in Liga Pro. The visitors moved in front early through Matias Mijail Perello (19') and Yandri Vásquez (34'), but Libertad refused to fold, pulling level through Gabriel Cortez on the stroke of half-time and Vilinton German Branda Merlin just after the break to make it 2-2. It was the kind of momentum shift that can break a leader's nerve — but Independiente del Valle are top of Liga Pro on 71 points for a reason. Steven Daniel Góngora Palacios settled it at 72 minutes, restoring the visitors' advantage for good. Libertad had won both previous meetings without losing, so this one stung. Góngora Palacios's decisive strike, the goal that finally put this one to bed, is the one you need to see.
