Match Recap
Manuel Mendonça and Leonardo Vonić had Moreirense two goals clear inside half an hour, and by full time the home side had turned it into a rout. Mendonça broke the deadlock in the 17th minute, Vonić doubled it eleven minutes later, and although Romain Correia pulled one back for Maritimo in the 79th, Alexandre Parsemain sealed a 3-1 win with seven minutes left. It's a result Moreirense badly needed: they sit 15th in the Primeira Liga table with just one win from five, while Maritimo arrived in better form, 10th on seven points with back-to-back victories behind them. None of that form counted for much here, as Moreirense outscored a side that had actually won more games than they had. Neither team has L. Suárez, the league's 26-goal top scorer, but they didn't need him for four goals between them. Watch how Vonić's strike put daylight between the sides before Correia's late reply threatened a comeback that never quite arrived.
