Match Recap
Benfica turned a first-half deficit into another Primeira Liga statement, coming from behind to beat Gil Vicente 3-1 at the Estádio da Luz and extend their perfect run to five wins from five. Hector Hernandez had Gil Vicente ahead inside seven minutes, but Vangelis Pavlidis levelled before the half-hour and the Primeira Liga match was level at the break. It stayed that way deep into the second half, with Gil Vicente — sitting ninth on seven points — holding firm until Pavlidis struck again in the 87th minute to finally break the visitors. Gianluca Prestianni added a third in stoppage time to put a flattering gloss on a win Benfica had to work hard for. The Eagles now sit second on 16 points, their perfect form reading five wins out of five. Pavlidis has already made the Estadio da Luz his stage, and his 87th-minute winner is exactly the kind of clinical finish you need to see for yourself.
