Match Recap
FC Voluntari held firm for over an hour, but Universitatea Cluj finally broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute through Marius Stefanescu, and Alibek Aliev put it beyond doubt in the 87th to seal a 2-0 win in Liga I. The result nudges Cluj up to eighth with 12 points from five games, backing up two wins in a mixed WLLLW run, while Voluntari stay stuck in 15th on eight points, their LWDLL form showing just a single win all season. It's the kind of scoreline that tells its own story: Voluntari created enough resistance to make Cluj wait, then couldn't survive the final quarter of an hour once the away side found their range. Neither Stefanescu nor Aliev sits among the league's current top scorers, chasing A. Cordea's 16 for the season, but both delivered exactly when it mattered most for their side's table position. Watch the highlights to see Stefanescu break Voluntari's resistance in the 73rd minute before Aliev's 87th-minute finish puts the result beyond reach.
