Charleston Battery 1–1 Rhode Island

Charleston Battery looked set to suffer an upset until Michael Berry buried a deep stoppage-time equalizer, in the 90th+4th minute, that sent this USL Championship playoff tie to penalties. J. Kwizera's 28th-minute strike had given Rhode Island the lead and nearly held up for a full hour, but Berry's finish salvaged a 1-1 draw and forced the shootout. Charleston Battery stay second in the table on 53 points riding a WWDLW run, while Rhode Island sit seventh on 42 points despite their own LDWLW form. History favors the hosts too, Charleston Battery won the only previous meeting between these two sides. Berry's goal was no fluke, either, it's now his sixth of the campaign and ranks him fifth among USL Championship scorers, just three behind league leader P. Goodrum. Watch Berry's 90th+4th-minute leveler land and force the penalties that decided it.
