Match Recap
Phoenix Rising and Lexington traded blows in a six-goal thriller that finished 3-3, with Paul Goodrum stealing the show on both ends of the result. Phoenix raced ahead through I. Sacko in the 10th minute and G. Studenhofft on 29, looking in control until Goodrum struck right on the stroke of halftime to give Lexington a foothold. Goodrum wasn't done: he leveled things up again in the 53rd minute, his second of the afternoon and ninth of the USL Championship season, enough to keep him atop the league's scoring charts. B. P. Rodrigues and A. Molloy piled on for Lexington either side of the hour mark, turning a Phoenix lead into a share of the points. The form books tell their own story here, Lexington arrived in fourth with four wins from five while Phoenix sat eighth after back-to-back-to-back losses, yet for 45 minutes it was Phoenix calling the shots. Watch how Goodrum's second goal flips the entire complexion of the match in the clip below.
