Alianza FC 0–0 Deportivo Universitario

A goalless draw at home for Alianza FC against Deportivo Universitario tells only part of the story. Alianza sit second in the Liga Panameña de Fútbol on 27 points but arrive off a run of three straight draws, and this stalemate makes it four; the attack that's carried them to the top of the table went quiet when it mattered. Deportivo Universitario, 11th and still finding their footing after an early losing skid, will take real encouragement from a scoreless trip to a side chasing the league's top scorer R. Dinolis and his 14 goals, none of which came from either side here. History gave a hint this might be tight: across their last two meetings Alianza have never lost to this opponent, with one win and one draw, and that pattern held firm again. Neither goalkeeper was beaten, but that doesn't mean neither was tested.
