Match Recap
Three goals in four minutes straddling half-time turned this Eredivisie contest at Utrecht into a convincing 4-1 rout for AZ Alkmaar. P. Koopmeiners broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time, and before Utrecht could regroup, Weslley Patati and M. Meerdink had added two more in the 47th and 49th minutes. The home side were three down inside an hour, and A. Stepanov's 62nd-minute consolation did little to change the mood, with A. Oufkir completing the scoring in the 84th. AZ arrive at the top of the Eredivisie table with a perfect six points from two matches, while Utrecht are still searching for their first points of the season after two defeats. It is a bitter result for the hosts, who had beaten AZ in the two sides' only previous meeting. Koopmeiners' opener and the two-goal burst that followed it are the highlight package to watch.
