Match Recap
Five goals, a two-goal cushion twice clawed back to one, and a breathless finish that only the final whistle could settle. Universitario had looked entirely in command after C. Inga and A. Valera struck in quick succession in the 24th and 29th minutes at FC Cajamarca's ground, but M. Rasmussen's stoppage-time header just before the break kept the hosts alive. G. Lapadula restored the two-goal advantage in the 61st minute, and Universitario appeared to have closed the game out, until J. Lugo's 88th-minute strike turned the closing stages into a genuine scramble. The visitors held on for a 3-2 Primera División win, pushing their tally to 39 points with three wins from their last five outings, while Cajamarca remain deep in trouble on 21. Valera, sixth in the Primera División's scoring charts with 11 goals, was the engine behind that clinical early blitz. His 29th-minute finish, the one that really broke Cajamarca, is worth a second look.
