Match Recap
Samuel Anaku did it twice, and that was enough to sink Detroit City. Hartford Athletic leaned on their forward's brace, either side of the break, to steal a 2-1 win on the road in USL Championship play. Anaku opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, Dennis Amoo-Mensah leveled for Detroit right before halftime, and then Anaku struck again in the 75th to settle it. The result flips the script from these two sides' only previous meeting, which ended level. It also shakes up the table: Detroit sit third with 51 points despite the loss, while Hartford's win lifts them to sixth on 43, snapping a shaky run of form. Anaku's second goal of the night also pushes him into the league's top ten scorers, just shy of leader P. Goodrum's pace. Detroit City dominate the minutes but not the moments, and Hartford make theirs count. Watch Anaku's 75th-minute finish that turned a tense draw into a road win.
