Match Recap
Universitatea Cluj trailed inside the first quarter-hour but roared back to turn a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 win over CFR 1907 Cluj, with Issouf Macalou scoring twice in the Liga I clash. Stefan Dražić's 12th-minute finish had CFR dreaming of extending their recent hold on this derby, where they'd won two of the last three meetings with their city rivals. Instead, the second half belonged entirely to Universitatea. Macalou leveled it in the 51st minute, Oucasse Mendy put the visitors ahead four minutes later, and Macalou struck again on 71 to complete his brace and the turnaround. The win lifts Universitatea Cluj to fifth in the table on 18 points, while CFR slide to eighth with their early advantage counting for nothing. Three goals inside twenty second-half minutes flipped a result CFR's own history with this opponent suggested should have gone the other way. Macalou's second goal, the one that sealed it, is worth rewinding for on its own.
