Match Recap
Lommel United had nothing to show for long stretches against Gent, but two late strikes turned a quiet Jupiler Pro League afternoon into a statement. J. Talvitie broke the deadlock in the 82nd minute, and five minutes later D. Gordic doubled it, sealing a 2-0 win before Gent could respond. It's a result that cuts against the table: Gent arrived third with 25 points and three wins from five, riding a LWWWD run, while Lommel United sat seventh on 15 points with a patchier WDWDL stretch. On paper this was Gent's game to control; on the pitch, Lommel United's late surge decided it. Neither scorer ranks among the Jupiler Pro League's top ten this season, a tier still led by N. Tresoldi's 23 goals, but late, unscripted winners like this are exactly why you keep watching until the final whistle. Catch Talvitie's opener and Gordic's clincher, scored just five minutes apart to sink Gent, in the highlights below.
