Match Recap
Banfield and Barracas Central shared the points in a Liga Profesional Argentina battle that neither side could quite escape from mid-table trouble. Lautaro Martín Gómez gave the hosts a lift right on the stroke of halftime, netting in the third minute of first-half stoppage time to send Banfield into the break ahead. But Ivan Tapia hauled Barracas level just after the hour, finishing off the 62nd minute to make it 1-1 and snap the momentum straight back the other way. Neither club arrives in form: Banfield sit 12th with just one win in five, while Barracas are 9th and still searching for a victory of their own after five rounds without one. The head-to-head is split too, with one win apiece in their last two meetings, so this draw fits the pattern of a fixture that refuses to settle. Both teams leave with plenty still to prove, but Gómez's perfectly timed strike right before the whistle is the moment worth rewinding for.
