Match Recap
Cristhian Benalcazar waited until the 90th minute to settle it, snatching three points for Deportivo Cuenca right as Tecnico Universitario thought they'd grabbed a share of the spoils. E. Mesa had given the hosts an early lead inside ten minutes, only for Wagner Eriberto Caicedo Peralta to drag Tecnico level just before the break. The Liga Pro clash stayed level deep into the second half before Benalcazar's late strike flipped the result at the death. Deportivo Cuenca came in sitting 12th with 36 points off a patchy DLWLD run, while Tecnico Universitario, 14th on 32 points despite two wins in their last five, had actually edged the head-to-head series between these two with a win in their last meeting. None of that history mattered once the clock hit 90. Neither side has a player among the league's top scorers, but Benalcazar just wrote himself into this fixture's story instead, turning a share of the points into a gut-punch winner for the away side. Watch exactly how that 90th-minute strike unfolded, the buildup, the finish, the celebration, right here in the highlights below.
