Match Recap
Spartak Varna grabbed a point at home against Ludogorets on Sunday, but the hosts needed just three minutes to see it snatched back. S. Major put the Bulgarian First League's sixth-placed side ahead in the 65th minute, threatening an upset against a Ludogorets side sitting second in the table with 17 points from five games. But S. Shishkov leveled almost immediately at 68 minutes, and that was that. For Spartak, the draw is a hard-earned one: Ludogorets had beaten them in their only previous recent meeting, and the reigning contenders came in on a three-match winning run. Spartak's patchy form, one win in five, makes even a draw feel significant. Neither Everton Bala, the First League's 15-goal top scorer, nor any of the other top-ten marksmen found the net here, which makes Shishkov's equalizer all the more worth watching. Three minutes, two goals, one point each, and the question is whether Major's finish or Shishkov's instant reply was the sharper strike.
