Match Recap
Alemao just would not stop in extra time. His second of the night, in the 97th minute, broke a deadlock that had already swung twice, and De Frutos piled on two minutes later to put Rayo Vallecano seemingly out of sight against Recreativo Huelva in this Copa del Rey tie. A. Marin had put the hosts ahead in the 23rd, only for Alemao's first to level things before the break, and Pablo Romero's strike in the 109th minute gave Recreativo one last twist, cutting it back to 3-2 deep into extra time. It wasn't enough. Five goals, a lead that changed hands, and a finish that went all the way to the 109th minute before Rayo Vallecano closed it out 3-2... 2-3, with Alemao's brace doing the damage after Villoslada's league-leading form made the goalscoring charts the story elsewhere. Watch Alemao's extra-time double and Romero's nervy late reply unfold minute by minute in the highlights below.
