Match Recap
Kevin Viveros helped himself to a brace as Atletico Paranaense ran riot in Serie A, putting four past Chapecoense-sc in a one-sided demolition. The visitors never let up: Leonardo Caetano Silva set the tone inside six minutes, and by the half-hour mark Luiz Gustavo and Viveros had already turned it into a rout. Maurício Garcez's 72nd-minute strike was the only reply Chapecoense-sc could muster before Viveros added his second in the 78th to seal a 4-1 scoreline. The gulf in form was obvious well before kickoff, with Atletico Paranaense sitting fourth on 50 points against a Chapecoense-sc side languishing in 20th on 18, and the head-to-head record offered the hosts no comfort either after a defeat in their only previous meeting. For a team chasing Serie A's scoring charts led by Kaio Jorge, Viveros's double was a timely reminder of his own quality. Catch both of his strikes, plus the early opener that set Chapecoense-sc back on their heels from the sixth minute, in the highlights.
