Match Recap
SC Freiburg turned the Bundesliga's early season table upside down on Sunday, dismantling Borussia Mönchengladbach 5-0 to make it three wins from three and go top of the table with nine points. Yannick Engelhardt and Igor Matanovic were the architects of the rout, each bagging a brace as Freiburg's attacking depth started to look genuinely frightening. Engelhardt opened it in the 23rd minute, Matanovic doubled it six minutes later, and the game was effectively over before half-time. Mönchengladbach, who sit bottom of the Bundesliga with zero points from three games, offered almost nothing by way of a response. Matanovic struck again in the 77th minute, Engelhardt swept in his second two minutes later, and Maximilian Eggestein added a fifth in the 86th to complete the humiliation. Freiburg haven't lost to Gladbach in their last two meetings, and on this evidence it's hard to see when that changes. Watch Engelhardt's brace, back-to-back in a frantic nine-minute spell, to see why Freiburg are flying.
