Malacateco 2–0 Guastatoya

Malacateco didn't need fireworks to settle this one, just patience and two second-half strikes. C. Alvarado broke it open in the 53rd minute, and Fredy Morales put the result beyond doubt with a goal in the 81st as Malacateco closed out a 2-0 win over Guastatoya in Liga Nacional. The two sides have split results almost evenly lately, one win apiece and a draw in their last three meetings, so this wasn't a case of history repeating itself, it was Malacateco finally breaking the deadlock. N. Martinez still sits atop the Liga Nacional scoring charts with 21 goals, but neither of tonight's scorers needed to trouble the league leader to get the job done. Alvarado's opener forced Guastatoya to chase the game, and Morales made sure there was no late twist. Two goals, thirty minutes apart, enough to decide it. Watch how Alvarado finds the gap to open the scoring, and how Morales seals it with the highlights below.
