Deportivo Universitario 2–1 UMECIT

Deportivo Universitario turned a stagnant afternoon into a five-minute eruption, with J. Simons breaking through in the 53rd minute and J. Gondola doubling the lead just four minutes later to sink UMECIT 2-1 in the Liga Panameña de Fútbol. On paper this looked like an upset waiting to happen: UMECIT sit third with 25 points and a form line of WDDDD, while Deportivo Universitario are down in 11th on 14 points after three straight losses before this week's win. History also favored the visitors, who took the only previous meeting between these sides. None of that mattered once Simons and Gondola found their rhythm in the second half, flipping the form book in barely 300 seconds of game time. UMECIT's unbeaten run in five and their table advantage counted for nothing once the hosts hit their stride. Watch how Simons springs the opener and how Gondola pounces just moments later to complete the turnaround.
