Match Recap
Velez Sarsfield had to wait until the 85th minute, but Thiago Silvero made it count, slotting home the only goal to sink Gimnasia M. 1-0 in the Liga Profesional Argentina. It was a slow burn of a match that stayed goalless deep into the second half before Silvero turned up right when Velez needed him most, snapping a scoreless deadlock with a late winner that flips the script on this fixture. Velez had actually lost the only previous meeting between these two sides, so this result settles an old score and does it in style. The win also keeps Velez's push up the table alive, moving them to 28 points and third place, with two wins in their last five building some momentum despite a mixed WLDWD run. Gimnasia, on the other hand, sit 11th on 19 points and remain stuck in inconsistent form after this loss. Neither side has a name among the league's current top scorers, but Silvero didn't need a reputation, just one perfectly timed finish. Watch exactly how Velez Sarsfield broke Gimnasia's resistance in the 85th minute, with the goal that decided it all right here in the highlights.
