Match Recap
Tunde Arokodare put Ajax ahead inside nine minutes and finished the night with a brace, but it was the collapse that followed that defined this one. F. Etim pulled one back for FC Midtjylland in the 28th, briefly suggesting a contest in the UEFA Europa Conference League, before Ajax tore the game open: Owen Wijndal, Davy Klaassen, Oscar Gloukh and Marcos Leonardo all scored between the 59th and 82nd minutes to turn a one-goal game into a 6-1 rout. Seven goals, five different Ajax scorers, and a Midtjylland side left to count the damage. The result lines up with where both sides sit, Ajax picking up their first win in two games while Midtjylland remain without one. Arokodare's double opened the floodgates, but it's the four-goal avalanche in the final half hour that fans will want to see unfold goal by goal in the highlights.
