Sporting Lagos 2–1 Bendel Insurance

Bendel Insurance needed just sixty seconds to stun Sporting Lagos, Kelvin Oke Solomon pouncing inside the opening minute to send the visitors ahead before the home crowd had settled. Sporting Lagos didn't panic. Victor Samuel leveled things in the 14th minute, and eight minutes later Olaniya turned the game on its head, completing the comeback in the 22nd minute, a blow Bendel Insurance never recovered from. The 2-1 result leaves both NPFL sides level on 12 points, with Sporting Lagos sitting 7th and Bendel Insurance just above them in 6th, though the home side's WDDDW form reads far healthier than Bendel's LWLWL slide. Neither scorer cracks the league's top ten marksmen, a list still led by V. Mbaoma's 13 goals, but this match didn't need a star name to swing it, just a fast start undone by a faster response.
