Match Recap
Aurelien Scheidler scored twice, and both goals mattered, as Charleroi survived a five-goal shootout to beat Cercle Brugge 3-2 in the Jupiler Pro League. Freddy Mbemba opened the scoring inside a quarter of an hour, Scheidler doubled the lead by the 25th minute, and Charleroi looked comfortable until Dante Vanzeir pulled one back just before the half-hour. Scheidler struck again on 61 minutes to restore the two-goal cushion, and Steve Ngoura's reply with 17 minutes left made sure nobody could relax until the final whistle. The result gives Charleroi four wins from their last five games and keeps them second in the table, a sharp contrast to Cercle Brugge's grim run of one point from five games near the bottom of the standings. It also erases the only previous meeting between these two clubs, which Charleroi lost. Watch Scheidler's second finish, the goal that turned a nervy lead into a real cushion.
