Match Recap
Mjallby AIF needed just under an hour to break Inter Club d'Escaldes open, and once Jimmy Bergstrom did it in the 54th minute, the floodgates were never far behind. Andreas Noren doubled the lead eleven minutes later, turning a tight European away night into a comfortable 2-0 home win in the Conference League. There's no table context yet to lean on here, this is the opening act for both clubs in the competition, but the gap in class showed on the pitch long before it showed on the scoreboard. Escaldes, the Andorran side making the trip, never found an answer once Mjallby's Swedish engine got going in the second half. Two goals, two different scorers, and a clean sheet to boot for the hosts, exactly the kind of statement result a club wants in its first continental test. Watch Bergstrom's breakthrough strike and Noren's follow-up below to see exactly how Mjallby turned a cagey Conference League night into a two-goal statement.
