Match Recap
Mjallby AIF needed a late spark, and Tobias Pettersson delivered it. Chasing a 1-0 draw at Saburtalo's expense turned stalemate into drama when Johan Jinjolava broke through in the 55th minute, only for the Georgian side to hold firm until the 89th, when Pettersson snatched a point for the Swedes right at the death. The result keeps Mjallby unbeaten and climbing in the Conference League group table, sitting sixth with three points after one game, while Saburtalo start their campaign bottom of the standings with a loss to show for it. Neither side has T. Parrott, the league's current top scorer, on their books, but this tie had its own late-match theater regardless. For Saburtalo, it's a damaging opener against a Mjallby team that refused to let a road trip to Georgia end in defeat. Want to see how Pettersson found the net with the clock almost out? The equalizer is the whole story here, watch it unfold in the highlights below.
