Match Recap
Cruz Azul made light work of a struggling Pachuca side, with Gabriel Fernández and Francisco Venegas combining for two goals inside the opening 20 minutes to put the visitors firmly in control. Andrés Montaño added a third late on, in the 79th minute, sealing a 2-1 win that stretched Cruz Azul's superior Liga MX form into sharp relief against their hosts. The table tells the story just as clearly: Cruz Azul sit sixth with 20 points and a WDDLW run, while Pachuca remain mired in 16th with a single win in five and a stretch of losses and draws to show for it. Head-to-head history offered Pachuca little comfort either, their recent record against Cruz Azul split evenly at one win and one loss. Three different scorers, three different moments of individual quality, and a Pachuca defense that had no answer for any of them. Watch how Fernández and Venegas tore the game open inside the first 20 minutes, then catch Montaño's 79th-minute strike that put the result beyond doubt.
