Match Recap
Diego Rossi and Jesús Corona settled this one before the twenty-minute mark, and Pachuca never recovered. Rossi opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Corona doubled it three minutes later, handing Monterrey a cushion that held up despite Salomón Rondón's reply in the 75th minute. The win also flips an uncomfortable head-to-head: Monterrey had lost both of their last two meetings with Pachuca, and this Liga MX result finally turns that record around. Neither side arrived in good shape. Monterrey sit 12th with 14 points and only one win in their last five games, while Pachuca sit 14th with 13 points despite two wins in that same stretch, which makes the fast start count for even more. Rondón's strike kept Pachuca's hopes alive deep into the second half, close enough that Monterrey's lead looked shaky for a stretch. It survived anyway. Watch how Rossi and Corona rip through Pachuca's defense inside fifteen minutes, the two goals that actually decided it.
