Real Salt Lake 2–1 Los Angeles Galaxy

Real Salt Lake needed just thirteen minutes to put this one away. Sergi Solans opened the scoring in the 10th, and Chadwick Zachary Booth doubled the lead three minutes later, leaving Los Angeles Galaxy chasing from the opening quarter-hour. Luc De Fougerolles pulled one back before halftime, but Real Salt Lake held on for the 2-1 win in Major League Soccer. The result flips the recent script between these two: Real Salt Lake had lost both of their previous meetings with the Galaxy, so this breaks that run in emphatic fashion. In the standings picture, Real Salt Lake sit 11th on 42 points while the Galaxy occupy 7th with 44, so the gap on paper made the fast start even more striking. Solans and Booth did the damage early, and De Fougerolles' response only mattered for the scoreboard, not the outcome. Watch how Real Salt Lake blitzed the Galaxy in those opening minutes, and see Booth's finish that put the game out of reach before it had really begun.
