Match Recap
Gessime Yassine put his name on the scoresheet twice as Strasbourg tore Auxerre apart in a six-goal rout at home. Dario Essugo broke the deadlock just before halftime, then Strasbourg kept piling it on through Martial Godo and Conrad Harder before Yassine's double sealed a 5-1 demolition in Ligue 1. Cameron Archer's goal for Auxerre in between was barely a footnote on a night that belonged entirely to the hosts. It's a rare bright spot for a Strasbourg side sitting 16th with just seven points from five games and no wins all season, while Auxerre arrive 12th and will leave Alsace having lost the head-to-head series for the first time in their last three meetings with this opponent. None of it points to who's chasing Lepaul's 27-goal lead at the top of the scoring charts, but for one night Strasbourg didn't need a star name, just six goals in one match and two from Yassine to make the difference. Watch how Yassine's second, in the 85th minute, put the final, emphatic stamp on the rout.
