Match Recap
Ernest Nuamah broke the deadlock before halftime, and Corentin Tolisso sealed it with four minutes left, as Lyon ground out a 2-0 win over Angers in Ligue 1. Nuamah's 38th-minute finish set the tone, and even though Angers held firm for long stretches, Tolisso's strike in the 86th minute closed the door for good. The win pushes Lyon up to fifth with 14 points from five games, mixing wins and losses all season, while Angers remain stuck in 15th with just eight points and one win in five. It also continues a trend: Lyon have now beaten Angers in two of their last three meetings, with the other finishing level, so history held up again. Angers never found an answer once Nuamah put them behind, and Tolisso's late finish will sting given how long they held on before conceding again. Watch Nuamah's composed opener and Tolisso's late dagger in the highlights below.
