Match Recap
Corinthians couldn't buy a win if their lives depended on it, and this draw against Vitoria will do nothing to stop the rot. Carlos Renê de Sousa Ferreira caught Corinthians cold right on the stroke of halftime, turning first-half stoppage time into the away side's moment, before Yuri Alberto hauled his side level on 66 minutes to salvage a point. For Corinthians, sitting 16th with zero wins in their last five and a five-game losing streak, even a draw feels like a small mercy. Vitoria, 13th and riding a win-draw-win finish before this trip, will feel the two points slipping away given how their recent run has trended upward. It fits the pattern between these two: Corinthians have lost none of their last three meetings with Vitoria, taking a win and two draws, and this one simply extends that streak rather than breaking it. Neither Yuri Alberto nor Carlos Renê de Sousa Ferreira troubles league top scorer Kaio Jorge's tally of 28, but their goals mattered plenty in this Serie A clash. Watch Yuri Alberto's leveler land in the 66th minute and see exactly how Corinthians clawed their way back from the brink of another defeat.
