Match Recap
Atletico-MG needed one explosive twenty-minute stretch to flip a familiar script against Fluminense. The hosts had lost two of their last three meetings with this opponent, and going into the second half against a side sitting fourth in Serie A with 45 points, that trend looked set to continue. Then the floodgates opened. Reinier Jesus Carvalho struck in the 61st minute, Tomás Cuello added a second just two minutes later, and Vitor Fernandes Chaves Teixeira made it three in the 81st to put the result well beyond reach. Rodrigo Castillo pulled one back for Fluminense deep in stoppage time, but it was cosmetic. The win lifts Atletico-MG to 39 points, extending a five-game run of three wins that included this one, and gives them a first home victory over Fluminense in their recent history. The Cuello-to-Teixeira double punch inside twenty minutes is the sequence you need to see.
